Steve Ellinger is a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects and is a registered Architect in Texas (TX 12440), North Carolina and Tennessee. A 1982 graduate of Texas Tech University, he is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Texas Society of Architects, the Abilene Chapter AIA, and a certificate holder with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.  He is also an NCIDQ Registered Interior Designer in the State of Texas.  Mr. Ellinger has served on many community boards and organizations including: Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Abilene Preservation League, Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America prior to 2013, Leadership Abilene, Museums of Abilene, Abilene Outdoor Sculpture Committee, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Hendrick Home For Children, and Disability Resources Incorporated.

Mr. Ellinger has also served on several prominent Architectural Design juries including the American Institute of Architects National Design Awards design competition in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and New York City.  He has also served as a jurist for a worldwide design competition for a new corporate headquarters building in Kuwait City, Kuwait.  Mr. Ellinger also serves as Adjunct Professor at Abilene Christian University teaching Professional Practice courses in the Pre-Architecture and Interior Design programs.

He is a former member and Chairman of the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners which regulates the practice of architecture in Texas. In addition, Mr. Ellinger is a former member of the National Board of Directors to the National Council of Architectural Boards in Washington D.C.  Mr. Ellinger is the first Texas Architect to be elected to that position in 33 years.  He has also authored several sections of the Architectural Registration Examination currently in use. Steve is also the chairman of the Texas Society of Architects Government Affairs Committee as well as the City of Abilene Board of Building Standards.

Mr. Ellinger has been the project architect on numerous educational facility projects across Texas including primary and secondary school projects consisting of new construction as well as extensive renovations.  In addition, Mr. Ellinger has extensive experience in municipal type projects, as well as various commercial design projects.
